Following its acquisition of Upstate, Millipore is co-sponsoring the Fourth Annual Cell Signalling Symposium to be held 30 August to 2 September 2007 in Dundee, UK
Open to all scientists with an interest in cell signalling, drug discovery and disease, the abstract submission deadline is 31 July 2007.
'The interplay between protein phosphorylation and ubiquitination in cell signalling' is the theme of the four-day symposium, co-sponsored by Philip Cohen and Dario Alessi of the MRC protein phosphorylation unit at the University of Dundee.
Tony Hunter from the Salk Institute (California, USA) will deliver the keynote address, followed by presentations from leading scientists in the field of cell signalling.
The Millipore Young Cell Signaller Award recognises outstanding research by postgraduate and first-time postdoctoral scientists.
Selected by an experienced judging panel, the winner will receive £10,000 of Upstate reagents and a £5000 cash prize.
Millipore says it is committed to the development of basic medical research and any surplus funding from this non-profit event will be reinvested into further studies at the University of Dundee.
