Cole-Parmer is offering the Salvis Vacucenter vacuum oven that is said to offer precise operation through microprocessor-based control and come with built-in safety features.
The Vacucenter vacuum oven is a programmable microprocessor- controlled unit available with either a 20L or 50L chamber.
Capable of heating to 200C the heating jacket system provides good precision with +/- 1.7 per cent uniformity at 100C.
The double-pained glass door and high-quality insulation keeps the heat in and the oven surface cool, minimising heat loss.
The timer can be programmed up to 99 hrs and 59 minutes with a heating rate setting from 0.1C to 3C/min.
A 4mm hose barb purge port is connected to a precision valve allowing gas or air into the oven.
An electromagnetic valve controls the 6mm hose barb vacuum port.
It seals automatically in case of power failure to protect the samples.
Other features include a silicone gasket in the oven door to ensure an air-tight vacuum seal.
Removable shelves and shelf supports render it easy to clean, according to Cole Parmer.
The interior is made from 316 stainless steel.
The vacuum oven is built with safety features to protect the user from operation-related injury.
A spring-loaded metal safety catch is included to open the oven door slightly to prevent overpressure conditions.
Another safety feature is over-temperature control that turns off the heater when the oven door is open and prevents the sample from overheating within the oven chamber.
The oven is also equipped with an alarm system with visual and audible alarms that go off in case the temperature exceeds the required set point.
