Printer for laboratory applications creates labels able to withstand extreme environments including liquid nitrogen, freezers, hot water baths and chemicals such as xylene, alcohol and DMSO
Brady recently introduced the Lab Pal label printer, a portable, easy-to-use printer with labels that are designed to withstand extreme laboratory environments.
The Lab Pal features include a built-in date/time stamp and laboratory specific symbols all at an affordable price.
"Laboratory technicians told us that they needed a way to make sample identification quicker and more efficient," comments Jim Gross, Brady laboratory market manager.
"Writing labels by hand can be time consuming and the vials and slides are often difficult or impossible to read. "In addition, the labels need to adhere easily and stay stuck even after exposure to harsh environments including liquid nitrogen, freezers and hot water baths as well as to chemicals such as xylene, alcohol and DMSO".
The Lab Pal's built-in date/time stamp offers the ability to provide exact date and time documentation on the label, while a serialisation feature together with pre-programmed vial sizes (0.6ml, 1.5ml and 2-4ml) and slide labels also help laboratory personnel to save time.
The printer's drop-in cartridge makes rapid loading simple and the exposed edge on the labels makes peeling easy - even for operators wearing gloves.
The Lab Pal printer offers five label colour options enabling a laboratory to colour-code its bottles, flasks and shelves for general identification purposes.
The printer is lightweight (only 545g) and runs on 6AA batteries.
A 12 month warranty is included with user registration.
