National Instruments UK and Ireland has recently promoted Peter Horn to field sales engineer for the East Anglia region
Peter Horn, who lives in Cambridge, will be the first point of contact for customers in East Anglia with responsibility for specifying systems and introducing National Instruments innovative hardware and software.
"I'm very excited to have this opportunity" said Peter Horn, "and I'm looking forward to all the new challenges I will face as a field sales engineer, including implementing systems to help make customers more successful".
Horn began his career at National Instruments as an applications engineer in 2003 after graduating with an honours degree in electronics with broadcast engineering from Brighton University.
As with all National Instruments applications engineers, he was enrolled into the Engineering Leadership Programme (ELP), described as the premier training program mefor individuals interested in career development at National Instruments.
While in this programme, new hires develop product knowledge as well as leadership skills, which prepare them for successful careers.
National Instruments's 'promote from within' policy coupled with its rapid growth demands a steady flow of qualified engineers to fill positions in marketing and technical sales.

Throughout two years of intensive training on products and applications, ELP Engineers - the interface between National Instruments and its customers - deliver creative and timely solutions to customers' technical issues.
They work extensively with every department in the company, primarily assisting sales and marketing - but also feeding information back to product design and manufacturing.
Because of the broad exposure to the company coupled with short-term assignments with technical sales and marketing, ELP engineers can establish the direction they want to pursue in their careers.
In addition, they have the opportunity for travel within UK/Ireland (and potentially internationally) to conduct customer training and seminars, attend trade shows and give product presentations.
