The award is given in recognition of Bespak's innovations in development of metered dose inhalers (MDIs), complemented by its range of manufacturing services to pharmaceutical and healthcare companies
Bespak has been presented with the 2005 Frost and Sullivan award for technology innovation.
This highly coveted award is given to a company that has demonstrated technological superiority within its industry.
It recognises the ability of the company to successfully develop and introduce new technology, formulate a well-designed product family and make significant product performance contributions to the industry.
Bespak is the only organisation in the field of pharmaceutical packaging to receive such an award in 2005.
The award offers further credibility to the company's 'vision delivered' brand promise, a proposition devised to reflect Bespak's core strength in enabling customers to realise their vision, it says.
Frost and Sullivan particularly highlighted Bespak's technological superiority and market leadership in the development of hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) valves as the phase out of chloroflurocarbon (CFC) valves gathers pace.
It is estimated that two thirds of all products currently marketed with HFA formulations use Bespak valves.
Mark Throdahl, Bespak CEO, stated: "I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of everyone at Bespak.
"This is an important and independent validation of our HFA valve development successes and our industrialisation capabilities.
"Our cultural commitment to continuous improvement is enabling us to add value to our customers products.
"This award is a direct recognition of our unrivalled ability to take devices safely to market".
