Digital Healthcare, a supplier of software for diabetic retinal screening programmes and ophthalmology, announces the appointment of Mike O'Leary as a non executive director with immediate effect
Mike O'Leary, 53, joins Digital Healthcare (DH) with a career history that includes 14 years as a main board director of Misys, one of the world's largest suppliers of industry-specific software products.
Of particular relevance to DH, O'Leary led Misys's North American healthcare business, ranked five in the US healthcare IT market, from the time of its acquisition in 1997 through until the middle of 2000.
Rob Stichbury, Digital Healthcare's managing director, said: "The appointment of Mike to the board of Digital Healthcare is a critical element in the strategic development of our business both in the US and Rest of World markets.
"Mike is highly knowledgeable in IT, healthcare and M+A bringing a wealth of experience from his time at Misys Healthcare in the USA and from other assignments.

In the UK, DH's specialist software services are used to screen over 300,000 patients annually for diseases such as glaucoma, retinopathy, cataracts and advanced macular degeneration, and in the USA, the company now provides screening solutions to over 600 private practices, hospitals and universities.
