Developer of 2D code reading and machine vision signs deal with newly created company providing exclusive European distribution rights for Absolute Vision's range of biotech 2D tube code-readers
Absolute Vision, developer of two-dimensional (2D) code reading and machine vision, and newly created company FluidX have signed an OEM and distribution agreement providing exclusive European distribution rights for Absolute Vision's range of biotech 2D tube code-readers.
FluidX will also have non-exclusive rights to market the range around the world.
FluidX will market the range under its own label, emphasising Absolute Vision technology at the heart of all products, including low-cost single tube code-readers to the most sophisticated readers designed for use with 384 racks.
The two companies will also work closely on developing new products for laboratory use that will see Absolute Vision's expertise being utilised in developing a wider range of 2D tube de-coding systems and in other vision based applications.
In addition FluidX will focus on expanding Absolute Vision's successful partnership with storage and liquid handling system providers.
FluidX has been set up by Robert Moore using his industry experience to provide a comprehensive range of high quality consumables, instrumentation and automation to the life science research community.
Richard Laight, business development manager at Absolute Vision, said: "This agreement with FluidX provides us with a strategic opportunity to increase sales of our biotech range of products across Europe.
"The FluidX management team are highly competent and know the industry extremely well.
"The combination of their experience and our leading edge products will, I believe, be a powerful and winning formula for all concerned".
Robert Moore, managing director of FluidX, said: "We are delighted to be able to launch the company with such a strong portfolio of products for our customers.
"Having been involved with Absolute Vision for many years we have full confidence in the quality of both the products and people; their decoding engine is extremely robust and optimised for the life science industry.
"This is going to be a win/win situation for Absolute Vision, FluidX and our customers".
Absolute Vision is a specialist developer of two-dimensional (2D) code reading and machine vision.
Products include innovative stand-alone and hand-held readers, embedded OEM and software data integration.
2D Data Matrix is a square or rectangular array of dots or cells that stores information in two dimensions (2D).
It has now been adopted in many industries and is quickly becoming the standard marking technology due to its ability to hold more information in a smaller space and the robustness of its reading capability.
Absolute Vision was acquired by global industrial marking equipment supplier, Edward Pryor and Son, in October 2003.
In 2006 an exclusive European wide distributor agreement with FluidX was signed, for the sales and support of all of Absolute Vision's biotechnology code-reading products.
FluidX was founded by Robert Moore who has extensive knowledge and experience of the biotech market.
Alongside Absolute Vision, FluidX has established other partnerships enabling it to offer a comprehensive portfolio of products for liquid handling including picking, handling, tracking, sealing and screening systems for life science research.
