Third annual series of interactive webinars planned to address changing needs of researchers and provide insight on latest laboratory innovations and applications
Corning, a global supplier of scientific laboratory and drug discovery products for more than 90 years, has announced its 2006 scientific seminar series schedule.
The live, web-based presentations will provide researchers with take-away tips, best practices, and proven techniques being used by leading researchers worldwide.
"Despite having been involved in cell culture and cell banking for 16 years, I still learned a number of new things from Corning's seminar series and have recommended it to my cell biology colleagues here at NIBSC," said Lesley Young, supervising cell biologist, UK Stem Cell Bank, NIBSC.
Corning scientists will present the complimentary seminars using the latest web cast technology, enabling attendees to participate from their office or lab, and engage in a Q+A session at the end of each presentation.
New seminars will be periodically added throughout the year and all webinars will be recorded and posted for researchers to download and play at their convenience.
Sample topics include: Growing 'happier' cells; The impact of microplate attributes and instruments on assay performance; Choosing the best surface for growing cells; and Using DNA microarrays to study genome structure.
Last year, nearly 1000 researchers participated in the Corning-led sessions.
Due to this overwhelming turnout, as well as the positive response from last year's attendees, Corning decided to again host sessions in 2006.
According to a survey completed by 2005 attendees, 98% rated the seminar as excellent or good.
