Providing consistently high gas purity, each cylinder contains less than 10ppb oxygen and less than 20ppb moisture and can be used without the need for external purification of the gas supply
Air Products, a provider of pure and calibration gases and equipment for laboratories and industrial users, is extending its ultra high purity gas technology to even smaller gas cylinders.
With its assurance of built-in purity, the hi-tech gas cylinders, featuring Air Products's award-winning BIP technology, are now available in a range of sizes - from new ten litre cylinders to packs of 12x50litre cylinders, including the standard 47litre size.
Each cylinder contains high grade pure argon, nitrogen or helium for use in a range of demanding applications such as gas chromatography, inerting, or high tech welding.
Smaller in size, the cylinders are light and easy to carry, with a fitted handle.
They are ideal for use in demonstrations, portable applications and laboratories, where space is limited and smaller amounts of gas are needed.
The patented BIP technology features an automatic shut-off valve, which protects the integrity of the gas product.
This feature eliminates the risk of contamination, which can have serious and costly consequences - making results unreliable and causing production delays.

Anne-Catherine Gridelet, Air Products's marketing specialist for analytical and laboratories in Europe, said: "By extending our BIP technology to this smaller cylinder size, we are introducing the same assurance of ultra high-purity, accuracy, reliability and peace of mind to a wider range of users.
"In particular, the smaller cylinders will be useful for laboratory applications where space is limited and for analysts, for use in demonstration areas or for use with portable equipment".
Air Products's BIP technology achieved a Queen's Award for Innovation in 2004 and has been used extensively on larger cylinders and packs for specialist analytical and industrial applications, providing an assurance of consistently high purity at the point of use.
The new smaller cylinders are part of Air Products's Experis range of gases and gas handling equipment.
As well as pure gases, the range includes highly stable gas mixtures and highly accurate calibration gases.
Adjustable cylinder regulators and line regulators are also available for accurate and stable pressure control at the point of use and manifolds for use where a large volume or continuous supply of gas is needed.
