Following the success of its touch-screen control system, which was launched on the Touchclave-Lab autoclave range, LTE Scientific has introduced the Touchscreen-R control system for its Osprey range.
Following the success of its touch-screen control system, which was launched on the Touchclave-Lab autoclave range during 2005, LTE Scientific has introduced the Touchscreen-R control system for its Osprey range.
The Touchscreen-R control system incorporates a PLC combined with an easy-to-use touch-screen through which all commands, cycle data, program data and alarms are inputted and displayed.
This versatile system gives users a choice of selecting from a menu of load specific cycles or developing their own cycle profile.
Eight cycles can be stored in the memory as standard, and optional memory expansion is available to increase the number of available cycles to 20.
For those who need their cycles to be traceable, there is a facility to input operator identification and batch information at this stage.
There is also a facility to program a delayed cycle start which is particularly useful for maximising the use of the steriliser.
During the cycle, information is constantly displayed on the touch-screen.
The system incorporates a self-diagnostic system, which will highlight any abnormality in the cycle.
As an alternative to the Touchscreen-R control system, a uni-program control system can be fitted should the application be routine or repetitive, thus saving cost.
Autoclaves in the LTE Osprey range are available in eight standard chamber sizes - front-loading 40, 70, 150 and 380 litres, and top-loading 50, 100 and 130 litres.
All chambers are cylindrical.
Steam is generated by heating water in a reservoir within the chamber, with air being removed by upward displacement.
The Osprey 40 is designed to be bench mounted.
Other models are floor standing.
To keep the water reservoir in the chamber topped up, an auto-fill system is available on the Osprey 70, 150 and 380.
All floor-standing models are available with an optional vacuum system, which incorporates a highly efficient and fully protected liquid-ring pump delivering impressive vacuum levels of 200mbarA, thus ensuring superb air removal and effective drying.
Other options in the range include air ballast and effluent retention.
