Infection control company Tristel Solutions has appointed its first overseas distributors
The five companies with whom agreements have been concluded will support Tristel's growing customer base in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Turkey, Pakistan and New Zealand, and will further develop sales in these areas.
Tristel has an established direct sales force in its home market of the UK.
Commenting on the appointments, Paul Swinney, chief executive of Tristel, said: "Concerns about infection control and its improvement are widespread.
"Our core business of supplying instrument sterilants, in both solution and wipe form, to UK hospitals, continues to grow.
"The appointment of distributors for other geographical markets reflects the increasing interest in Tristel products outside the UK and we are looking to further expand our international operations.
"The most recent introduction to the company's product range is Tristel Duo, the first rapid action sporicidal cleaner for general hospital surfaces and non-invasive medical devices.
"This two part system comprises the Duo bactericidal and virucidal wipe, which can be boosted by the application of the Tristel Duo sporicidal foam, delivering chlorine dioxide directly to the surface, as and when required.
"Tristel Duo is designed to provide a readily available means of rapid decontamination and is active against organisms including MRSA, Clostridium difficile, Bacillus subtilis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Acinetobacter baumanii and Norovirus.
"It has applications in diverse areas, including for work surfaces, dressing trolleys, beds and mattress covers, instrument tables, monitor cases, control panels and keyboards".
