Rich Johnson, senior vice president and chief information officer at Clarian Health Partners , has joined the Health Informatics Program Advisory Board of the Indiana University School of Informatics
Johnson will be among 30 experts who advise the school on its strategic direction, curriculum, research and advancement.
The board includes representatives from a broad spectrum of the health-care community, including government, research, medicine, information technology and medical-device manufacturers.
"Johnson's career in information technology is vast and much of it focused on the health-care industry," says informatics dean J Michael Dunn.
"He brings great insight and energy to the board and to our school." Johnson, who has been with Clarian since September 2004, oversees all aspects of information technology, including outsourcing vendor management, clinical integration, business process reorganization and strategic planning.

"I'm pleased to serve on the program advisory board for IU," says Johnson.
"The School of Informatics has a rich history and I look forward to contribute further to its success, and am excited about the many opportunities and possibilities for the School's growth and advancement." In his 25-year career, Johnson has held executive positions for several large health systems in the Midwest and a national leadership position at General Electric.
He has published and lectured on topics such as systems planning, systems integration, data standards and complex systems implementation.
Johnson becomes the third top-level Clarian official to share expertise with the School of Informatics.
