Intertek Caleb Brett announces the acquisition of Parc Technical Services, a petroleum and chemical process and automotive testing services company, from the shareholders of Gemini Holdings
Parc is engaged in the business of contract automotive and pilot plant testing services to the petroleum, synthetic fuels, chemical, and catalyst industries.
Parc provides an extensive range of refinery process development services to help clients improve their operations.
The acquisition is directly in line with Caleb Brett's successful outsourcing strategy enabling it to provide an enhanced range of highly valued support services to its core client base as well as to new key target markets.
Parc is managed by Geoff Wilson who, with the rest of the management team and staff, will continue to run the business integrated into Caleb Brett.
The Parc facility is located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and includes R+D, automotive testing, pilot plant and analytical laboratories.
Parc utilizes 32 pilot plants to provide contract studies related to petroleum refining, petroleum based fuels and lubricant products.
Parc also offers customized services, including atmospheric and vacuum crude oil distillation, fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), hydrotreating and solvent de-waxing.
As part of its catalyst and process technology evaluation services, Parc operates a synthetic fuels laboratory for the development of gas-to-liquids Fischer-Tropsch process technology, including slurry-bubble column, ebullated bed, micro-reactor and CSTR catalyst testing capabilities.
Parc automotive testing capabilities are extensive and include 25 individual test cells, an all-weather test area and related support facilities.
Electrical and water brake dynamometers are available for testing gear oils.
Other capabilities include Ron, Mon and cetane engines, full-scope lubricant and engine oil testing, tribology, and wear, gearbox performance and engine testing.
