Institute of Clinical Research is continuing to expand its global presence following a visit by chief executive John Hooper to Shanghai in China and the signing up of its first China-based member
Hooper visited the country and delivered a lecture on the Global Dynamics of Clinical Research in India and China at the 10th International Exhibition on Biotech and Pharma in Shanghai.
He also secured valuable relationships with many key personnel in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry including Jinlian Chen, the first China-based ICR member.
Commenting on the success of his trip, Hooper said: "The level of interest in the Institute was excellent and I am confident to have attained many valuable contacts in China and the region".
The ICR's trip to China comes only a few months after IT visited New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai to establish how it can help in developing professionals, sharing knowledge and raising standards in India.
"We are increasingly growing our geographical reach and that was no more evident than at our annual conference which was attended by members from more than 17 countries," added Hooper.
Speakers at the Shanghai event included a leader of the Shanghai government, the chairman of Council for Egypt Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry, the vice president of Pall Life Science and the School of Pharmacy at the Second Military Medical University.
