To serve its customers in rapidly developing Korean high-technology industries, Edmund Optics (EO) has opened its newest division in Seoul, and introduced a Korean-language version of the EO catalogue
EO Korea provides technical support to customers and distributors in the region, while the Korean-language catalogue showcases over 400 new products added to Edmund's off-the-shelf inventory with technical primers translated into Korean.
"Most importantly," notes Marisa Edmund, director of marketing at EO, "we now provide service in eight languages through ten international facilities".
In addition to supporting Korean customers through the new office and catalogue, EO has launched an online e-commerce website especially for them.
The site features all 7600 products listed in the print catalogue, plus an additional 400 discounted products available only via the web.
Timothy Paul Kennedy, marketing director at EO's Singapore location, will oversee the new Korean office.
Optical engineer Rhee Joon Ho will manage day-to-day operations and be available to answer customers' technical questions and application inquiries.
"As we expand our operations into Asia," John Cleather VP of international sales points out, "it is critical that we offer Korean customers the same level of support that we provide for customers in the USA and Europe.
"That means responding to technical queries on the day they are received; and moving to a next day delivery service for most orders".
Edmund Optics (EO) is a manufacturer of optics, imaging, and photonics components and equipment supporting the R+D, electronics, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biomedical, and military markets around the globe.
