A new company formed by six ex-employees of Sira Technology has launched an affordable and flexible instrument engineering consultancy service
Jon Holmes, ex-director of Sira Biomedical, together with five applications and development staff, formed MDL Innovations when they left Sira Technology in March 2006.
"Our new company offers the experience and skills base that clients were used to getting from Sira, and our low overheads enable us to offer a very cost-effective, flexible and professional service," said Holmes.
The full team comprises Jon Holmes, Gordon McKenzie (applications and technology transfer), David Smith (optical design/Zemax), Bill Gilkes (mechanical design/SolidWorks), Simon Hattersley (systems and software/C, C++, C#, .net) and Martin Johns (programme management).
The company will focus on services to clients of optical design, optical instrument development and technology transfer in the industrial and biomedical fields, but is open to all enquiries.
The MDL Innovations team is also planning to develop medical imaging products based on optical coherence tomography.
