Pittcon 2007 seeks contributed oral and poster presentations in all areas of analytical chemistry, applied spectroscopy and related disciplines; deadline is 1 August 2006
The Pittsburgh Conference has released the Call for Papers for the 58th annual Pittcon Conference and Expo.
Pittcon 2007 will be February 25 to March 2, 2007, at the McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago, Illinois.
The Pittcon 2007 technical programme features comprehensive coverage at the forefront of analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis.
The organising committee has selected 60 invited symposia, including 13 awards, featuring world leaders in their respective areas of expertise.
The Pittcon website provides a detailed listing of these symposia.
The programme committee solicits abstracts of original, previously unpublished findings in all aspects of instrumental analysis including but not limited to chromatography, molecular and atomic spectroscopy, electrochemistry, mass spectrometry and lab-on-a-chip technology.
The committee also seeks abstracts addressing novel applications of measurement science in areas such as nanotechnology, biomedicine, neurochemistry, genomics, forensics, informatics and quality assurance as well as pharmaceutical, environmental, polymer and food science.
For full consideration, abstracts must be received by Tuesday, August 1, 2006.
Abstracts may only be submitted electronically via the technical program link.
Pittcon is a registered trademark of The Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy, a Pennsylvania non-profit organization.
Pittcon is the USA's largest educational conference on laboratory science and the premier meeting place for scientists and vendors of instrumentation and laboratory supplies worldwide.
Presented annually by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh, the conference features cutting-edge technical programmes; informative short courses, an extensive exposition of laboratory equipment; and more, all designed for those in the laboratory sciences.
Proceeds from the conference provide funds for science education activities from kindergarten through college levels and beyond.
Pittcon and its co-sponsors contribute nearly a million dollars each year to elementary and secondary schools and colleges in the form of science equipment; educational opportunities and scholarships for students.
Teachers and professors are recognized with awards/grants to enhance education and promote research.
Pittcon also offers support to public science centers, libraries and museums.
