Cars 4WD (continuous anion regenerant system) provides continuous regeneration of the membrane suppressor that is employed in ion chromatography to allow for suppressed conductivity detection
SeQuant announces the development of a series of innovative products to extend the capabilities of ion chromatography.
The Cars 4WD (continuous anion regenerant system) provides continuous regeneration of the membrane suppressor that is employed in ion chromatography to allow for suppressed conductivity detection.
The system is designed to be used with SeQuant's innovative Sams (SeQuant anion membrane suppressor).
The Sams/Cars system is based on the recirculation of a polymeric high molecular weight liquid cation exchanger that acts as a shuttle carrying protons between an external cartridge and the suppressor membrane.
The polymeric acid thereby ensure high capacity suppression with minimum forbidden penetration and low background conductivity.
The Cars 4WD system provides exceptionally low and stable background levels in anion chromatography.
It can be used with eluents with a high ionic strength and with gradient applications.
The lifetime of the replaceable cartridge depends on the eluent that is used in the chromatography.
In a typical example, an eluent of 2.4mM Na2CO3 and 3mM NaHCO3 at a flow rate of 1ml/min could be used for 210 days (8hr/day).
The system is robust and designed to be easy to use for routine or trace analysis within any IC system on the market.
