GenTech Scientific has been named the official fuel testing equipment supplier for the All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA), providing it with a Shimadzu GC-2010 gas chromatograph
The AHDRA, which started out as a racing club in the late 1970s with only 50 competitors, has grown into a US national organisation that hosts up to 350 competitors and 10,000 spectators per event.
The 2006 drag racing season featured 14 events across the country.
GenTech Scientific will be providing the AHDRA with a Shimadzu GC-2010 gas chromatograph.
This instrument will be used in the testing of Nitromethane (nitrocarbol) CH3NO2 and Methanol (methyl alcohol) CH3OH racing fuels and hydrocarbon gasoline.
The Shimadzu GC-2010 tests yield very accurate chemical graphs that are compared to base line tests of certified samples to determine compliance.
This will be the third year in which GenTech Scientific has provided analytical equipment, along with technical service and chemist support to the All Harley Drag Racing Association, and both companies have agreed to extend the partnership for an additional three years.
Founded in 1995 as a gas chromatography and mass spectrometer service company, GenTech Scientific has evolved into analytical instrument refurbishment and chemist support and service.
