Ray Hecker brings nearly 25 years of experience to his position with a background in business development, sales and marketing for healthcare, medical devices, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical
Ray Hecker's primary responsibilities at FTI include new business development and strategic planning, as well as heading up their consulting division.
This division advises the global scientific and drug discovery instrumentation market on the most cost-effective way to protect the laboratory environment from undesirable power surges, sags, and interrupts.
These incidents cause major damage to laboratory equipment and analytical results.
"During 1986, I was looking for a power solution to successfully launch the Paramax clinical chemistry analyser into the European, Japanese, and Pacific Rim markets," states Hecker.
"I needed a system that could guarantee my instrumentation would be operational 100% of the time by controlling typical laboratory power inconsistencies.
"John Franek offered me that solution through what is now FTI's laboratory protections system (LPS).
"It was then that I was introduced to John's technical expertise and I am very happy to now be a part of his team".
To secure new business at FTI, Hecker will improve marketing efforts and awareness with prospective clients to establish FTI as the front-runner in the scientific and drug discovery-instrumentation market.
"I have been chasing Ray for nearly seven years to come work with me," states John Franek, president of Franek Technologies.
"You don't often find an individual that has worked in medical devices, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals in the capacity that Ray has".
According to Franek, Hecker has an exceptional view of the global market, what is happening in drug discovery and development, how these organisations work, where to find the data needed to analyae our markets, and experience with informatics.
"We're looking to Ray to pull all of these elements together for us at FTI," Franek adds.
"He truly is a great addition to our team".
Prior to joining FTI, Hecker served as director of international business development for Amaxis, Quintiles Transnational (QTRN).
Before Amaxis, Hecker served as director of business development and key account sales for Medical Data International (MDI).
Within the medical device industry, Hecker has also served in leadership positions at Roche/Boehringer Mannheim and Nihon Kohden America.
Additionally, he was the manager of international sales and business development for Baxter Healthcare in the medical devices and diagnostics sector.
Hecker holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS engineering degree with postgraduate work from the University of Illinois.
