Integra has published an application guide demonstrating the benefits of its electronic adjustable tip spacing VOYAGER II pipette range in transferring liquid samples between different labware formats.
Many laboratory applications require liquid transfers between various labware formats and using a range of labware vessels. Traditional multichannel pipettes may not be able to accommodate this if tip to tip spacing is optimised for use with standard 96-well microplates.
To overcome this researchers may defer to using single channel pipettes - which are versatile but lack throughput performance.
In addition, single channel pipettes are more error prone and time-consuming to work with because more transfer steps are required compared to a multichannel
pipette.
The VOYAGER II pipette features electronic adjustable tip spacing, enabling the pipette to optimally access almost any labware at the touch of a button. Tip spacing can be adjusted anywhere between 4.5 mm and 33 mm.
The new application demonstrates how to significantly reduce the time spent spend pipetting and minimise transfer errors when pipetting liquids between tubes, vials and microplates.
Example applications include screening compound libraries, genotyping, qPCR and cell seeding.
