Eurofins’ new £4 million laboratory brings testing under one roof
4 Aug 2017
Work has finished on Eurofins’ new high-tech laboratory site for testing water and pharmaceutical products.
The Livingston, Scotland-based laboratory will bring both the company’s testing specialisms under one roof, says general manager Alison Clayton.
“Previously we have been providing water testing in Glasgow and pharma testing in Edinburgh,” said Clayton.
“The new site in Livingston will house the two functions and replace these two sites, forming a high-end chemistry and microbiology testing centre of excellence.”

Completed in five months by engineering consultancy Clegg Group, the work has cost £4 million.
It covers 40% of the property owned by Eurofins and the company has plans to further develop the estimated 32,000 sq ft remaining over a three-year period.
The firm’s plans for growth will focus on developing its pharma offering and GMP testing capabilities in the UK, as customer demand is anticpated to rise.
The project is one of a growing number of laboratories that specialist design and construction firm Clegg Group has developed.
John Moxon, business development director at Clegg Group, said: “We’re seeing an increasing demand for our expertise in the developments of laboratories.
“We’re thrilled with the results and proud to work on such a major development for a company that is so well-regarded in its sector.”
