Saudi calibration centre creates opportunity for Endress+Hauser
27 Nov 2018
Endress+Hauser has opened a calibration and training centre in Saudi Arabia’s industrial heartland of Jubail, at a cost of some €3million.
The 2,700 sq mtr site boasts the only vendor-managed gravimetric calibration facility in the region.
Its training centre features interactive technology, field bus training lab and workshop and is intended to develop skills among Saudi engineers and graduates as part of the kingdom’s Vision 2020 programme.
The development plan is intended to wean the country off its heavy reliance on oil production and to encourage the growth of the private commercial sector.
Endress+Hauser has been active in Saudi Arabia for nearly 20 years but previously worked through local representative Anasia Industrial Agencies. A new joint venture in 2012 has allowed the company to play a more hands-on role.
The calibration centre investment is intended to increase its presence in Saudi and the rest of the Middle East as the region becomes an increasingly important player in the process market.
