Colin Booth, vice president science and technology at Oxoid, will be one of the key speakers at this year's Microbiology for Non-microbiologists event in Berlin, on the 19-20 October 2006
Colin Booth will share his expertise with delegates from the pharmaceutical industry, including responsible personnel in production, QA, engineering and regulatory affairs.
The aim of 'Microbiology for Non-microbiologists' is to help responsible personnel to understand and interpret microbiological data and to evaluate their significance for further decisions.
Topics will include:.
The characteristics and growth of micro-organisms.
Detection and identification techniques.
Method validation.
Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization methods.
Environmental monitoring.
How to handle out-of-specification results.
There will also be 'hands-on' workshops on endotoxin testing and troubleshooting in microbiological QC.
