Colin Booth, vice president of science and technology at Oxoid, will be a key speaker at two GMP education courses - 'Process Simulation/Media Fills' (Prague) and 'Microbial Contamination' (Vienna)
'Process Simulation/Media Fills' is aimed at people in pharmaceutical production, QA and microbiological QC, who are responsible for the planning and evaluation of process simulation programmes used in the validation of aseptic processing.
The programme will cover how to plan a media fill in compliance with cGMP requirements and how to interpret results, investigate deviations and define follow-up measures.
There will also be workshops on 'Managing Interventions' and 'Handling a Media Fill Failure'.
'Microbial Contamination' aims to cover everything that QA Managers need to know about the control of microbial contamination, including:.
The principles of hygiene and microbiology.
Sources of contamination.
The design and structure of a hygiene protocol.
Hygiene of personnel.
Microbiological validation of processes.
Training of operators.
Parallel workshops are also offered on the following subjects: handling out-of-specification results; how to establish an environmental monitoring programme and sources of contamination and preventive measures.
Both of these events are organised by Concept Heidelberg on behalf of the European Compliance Academy.
