Cosmetic products developer and contract manufacturer has restructured its board with three key senior appointments of CEO, CFO and executive chairman following decision by David McLemore to step down
While David McLemore will remain a director of the organisation, his role is now taken over by the former CEO, Bobby Tolan.
Stuart Meldrum steps up from his previous role of group commercial director to become CEO, while Ran Oren is promoted to CFO and director of COSi Holdings.
A core part of Tolan's new role as executive chairman is to focus on strategic opportunities and the further development of COSi's international business base.
He explained the background to the changes: "During the past five years, we have undergone a considerable process of positive change and development, including attracting new customers, repositioning the company as a serious global player and reinforcing our reputation for innovation and quality".
He added; "Stuart and Ran have been key to us achieving this success as well as ensuring that our future strategy is implemented effectively.
"We are all looking forward to continuing our growth and success.
"As Stuart, Ran and I work extremely well together I'm confident that COSi will continue to expand, develop and innovate." An MBA and graduate of General Electric's (GE) executive development programme Bobby Tolan, joined COSi in July 2002 as COO and was appointed CEO in May 2003.
Tolan is a bold visionary and is recognised as an innovator in the manufacturing industry, personally bringing prominence to COSi in the marketplace through numerous public speaking engagements.
He was recently selected as one of four finalists in the 2006 Leading Wales Awards.
Stuart Meldrum had held several positions in COSi including UK operations director and most recently group commercial director.
He is also a member of the main board and a director all subsidiary boards including COSi Holdings, COSi Italy and COSi US.
Meldrum leads with confidence and energy, and is admired and respected by COSi's employees.
Oren has been finance director of COSi since 2004 and brings a wealth of experience and capability in corporate finance, banking and controlling.
Oren's appointment, which is effective immediately, and Bobby Tolan and Stuart Meldrum's which is effective from 1 December 2006, completes the board restructuring which began in October with the appointment of David Allen as director of global operations.
David joined COSi from Syngenta, where he held the position of head of global supply chain management and operations based in Basel, Switzerland.
He has over fifteen years of international management experience within multi-cultural organisations including operational management roles in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and North America.
He has a BSc in mechanical engineering from Staffordshire University and an MBA from Lancaster University.
