Sigma-Aldrich has announced that it expanded the capabilities of its subsidiary in Athens by establishing a local distribution network in Greece
This network is designed to ensure that the company's Greek customer base receive most common stock items within 24-48 hours and be provided with local technical assistance and advice.
The new distribution network has been established in response to a Greek market survey conducted by Sigma-Aldrich in Q3 this year, which indicated that a fast and reliable supply of scientific products was needed in the region.
Sigma-Aldrich customers have ranked the company's products as the best in quality and innovation in the Greek market.
Thomas Ploeger, country manager Greece, said: "Customer service is of paramount importance to Sigma-Aldrich, and we are continually looking for ways to improve our performance in this area.
"By enhancing our supply network in Greece we aim to decrease delivery times for key products, thereby minimising supply-related delays in customers' research projects".
The company's Greek distribution network will be provided by: for northern Greece (Hpeirous, Thessalie, Macedonia, Thrace), Controla; for southern Greece, Chemilab; and for Crete, Cretachem.
Sigma-Aldrich will maintain its Athens sales office in order to provide consultation for customers for life science and high technology products and to coordinate the distributor network.
