Low flow measurement specialist Litre Meter has announced the launch of Sierra Instruments's Micro-Track 101 series high performance digital mass flowmeter and controller
The instrument has been designed to measure ultra-low gas flow accurately and reliably.
With the increasing trend towards micro technology, measuring and controlling extremely low gas mass flow has become a necessity to scientists and engineers.
The Micro-Track incorporates new technology that enables it to measure and control micro mass flows of gas to a level of accuracy and reliability that previously has not been available to scientists.
The Micro-Track incorporates new, state-of-the-art sensor technology and a precision engineered direct acting valve design.
The instrument has been designed to operate at flow ranges under 4sccm with a minimum controllable mass flow rate of 0.1 sccm.
It is highly stable and delivers a measurement accuracy of +/-1.0percent full scale and +/-0.2percent repeatability.
Micro-Track has a stainless steel flow path and elastomer seals that eliminate the possibility of leaks.
It is suitable for use in most applications involving clean gases, including those that involve corrosive and toxic gases.
The instrument is small, with a footprint of 7.6x2.5cm.
It operates from a 24VDC supply and can be supplied with a choice of communications.
Micro-Track incorporates Sierra's state-of-the-art Dial-A-Gas.
Its internal microprocessor is pre-programmed with ten gases that are commonly used in biotech, pharmaceutical, analytical and research applications - others gases can be substituted to customise the flowmeter for applications.
This technology allows the instrument to be used for multiple applications, creating great flexibility as well as helping to reduce spares inventory.
An optional pilot module is available which can be mounted directly on the instrument or up to 15 metres (50 feet) away.
The module incorporates a large LCD display and six pushbuttons, which are used to change parameters such as gases, flowrates and units.
