Bruker Daltonics reports that prior to the end of 2006, it received a $1.7 million subcontract award for its Raid-M handheld chemical agent detectors from the US Army
Bruker Daltonics is expected to deliver most of the Raid-M handheld chemical agent detector systems by the end of 2007.
The systems are intended for the National Guard WMD Civil Support Teams (CST) Analytical Laboratory System (ALS).
The Raid-M will provide real-time chemical screening on site for the CST response mission.
Mr.
Frank Thibodeau, vice president of Bruker Daltonics NBC Detection, commented: "We are very pleased with our selection for this critical National Guard programme.
"This contract is just more evidence that the Raid-M has arguably become the preeminent handheld chemical agent detector in the world today with a detection performance and versatility not commonly expected of a handheld instrument.
"The National Guard ALS mission will span two important applications, in both defence and homeland security."
