Donaldson Membranes's portfolio of Tetratex ePTFE filtration media will be on show at Powtech 2007, Nurnberg, Germany, 27-29 March, Hall 7, Stand 648
Representatives from the mechanical process industry can take the opportunity to see how Tetratex and ePTFE membranes can be tailored to meet the demands of difficult and critical applications in a wide cross-section of industrial markets and commercial product markets.
Visitors are also invited to a special cocktail reception at the Donaldson Membranes stand on Wednesday 28 March at 6pm.
Tetratex membranes for industrial products are said to be ideal for a wide range of applications, including: cement, plastics, pharmaceutical, non-metallic, metallurgical and fine chemicals.
Tetratex expanded polytetrafluorethylene (ePTFE) membranes are manufactured from 100% PTFE polymer resin.
They are chemically inert and thermally stable up to 287C, and exhibit on average more than 100 million pores per cm2.
Tetratex is a surface filtration membrane, acting as a primary dust cake, requiring no dust cake to act as a filter aid, either before or during operation.
It helps retain the substrate integrity by inhibiting dust particle penetration and restricting surface cake formation, maintaining optimum airflow and stable pressure drop.
Tetratex membrane filter media vastly improves the performance of traditional filter fabrics which rely on the formation of a surface filter cake to capture fine dust particles, which can permit the migration of dust through the media leading to high emission values and raised pressure drop.
With emissions of pollutants into the environment and the workplace subject to ever more stringent legislative control, dust and fumes, toxic or not, must be removed from exhaust gases.
In addition, the solid particulate carried in the gas or liquid flow often represents a useful or valuable product, which must be efficiently separated or filtered for final use or further processing.
