Axiom Analytical reports that an article authored by company CEO, Mike Doyle, has appeared in the January/February 2007 issue of Industrial WaterWorld
Entitled 'Continuous monitoring of volatile organic compounds in industrial waste water, the article outlines an integrated system that provides rapid, fully-automatic, monitoring of selected volatile organics in water.
Many priority pollutants, such as chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatics are characterised by low solubility and high vapour pressure, making them difficult to measure using traditional techniques.
To overcome these limitations, the waste water analyser discussed in the article, employs the sparging-infrared method, coupled with the latest in process analytical software from Symbion Systems.
This makes possible the simultaneous measurement of multiple species with detection limits in the low ppb range, with updated results every few minutes.
Among the many benefits of the system is the ability to provide a chemical fingerprint of the waste stream.
This enables each spill to be traced to its point of origin.
Apart from the current published issue of the magazine, an electronic version of the article will be available for online viewing, starting March 2007.
