In the near future, laboratories will be required to track specimens from their inception to their final destination, says Duramark
The founder of Duramark, Allen Miles, is a former laboratorian having over 30 years experience as a owner-operator of medical and pathology laboratories.
He was also a consultant to the laboratory industry.
The company says it understands the primary missions of the laboratory and the special needs they encounter.
Duramark believes specimen integrity and public safety is taken a lot more seriously these days.
In the near future, laboratories will be required to track specimens from their inception to their final destination.
In addition, they will also require proof that the shipments maintained temperature stability.
This is already mandated in the food and drug industries and is headed this way, says the company, in the next 24 months.
Duramark will continue to develop new products and services for the laboratory/hospital industry.
These include specimen tracking capabilities using RFID, temperature tracking technology, certified courier training and package certification.
These are work in progress at Duramark with our RFID partners Peak Technologies and associate partner, Barry Johnston with HighQ.
