In a move said to emphasise the technological leadership of its current range of microscopes, Carl Zeiss has announced that Fisher Scientific will distribute a number of microscopes from its range
The deal sees the Primo Star, Axiovert 40 and Stemi DV4 stereomicroscope added to the Fisher Scientific UK web catalogue immediately and all three models plus accessories will be included within the next published paper catalogue.
"The combination of Thermo Electron and Fisher Scientific to form Thermo Fisher Scientific has created a world leading provider of instruments, equipment, reagents and consumables, software and services for research, analysis, discovery and diagnostics.
"It speaks volumes that the company has chosen three microscopes from the Zeiss range to offer laboratories throughout the UK," says Eddie McGuigan of Zeiss UK.
Under the terms of the agreement, other microscopes may be added to the range distributed by Fisher Scientific.
These may include the Axioskop 40 upright microscope and the Stemi 2000 Stereomicroscope.
Primo Star is a high performance microscope for education and the laboratory.
Robust, easy to operate, equipped with good optics and, above all, reasonably priced, this combination of features makes it the student microscope of choice.
It incorporates all the experience gathered by Carl Zeiss in the field of light microscopy, adapted specifically for educational purpose.
Ten different variants assure there's always the right microscope for every requirement.
Because Axiovert 40 makes no compromise on quality, the superior optical performance and wide range of features and functions makes it the perfect inverted microscope for routine cell biology.
Uncompromisingly brilliant images makes it ideal for cell and molecular biology laboratories, universities and pharmaceutical companies that, until now, have had to compromise on resolution in their routine examinations, particularly with thick cell specimens.
Axiovert 40 can also be equipped with the award-wining PlasDic, a DIC-like contrast method that allows the use of inexpensive, plastic culture vessels for microscopic examinations.
The sturdy Stemi DV4 stereomicroscope also makes no compromises whatsoever in image definition and brilliance.
The patented zoom system of the Stemi DV4 guarantees high-resolution, brilliant images that stay precisely in focus over the entire zoom range - described as an exceptional feature in this price category.
Two basic models and a wide range of specially selected accessories mean that users can easily configure their ideal stereomicroscope.
