If you know a microbiologist under 40 years who has made a substantial contribution to microbiology, you have until 27 April 2007 to nominate them for the Oxoid WH Pierce Memorial Prize, worth £2000
The WH Pierce Memorial Prize was instituted in 1984 by the directors of Oxoid to commemorate the life and works of the late WH (Bill) Pierce, former chief bacteriologist of Oxo and long-time member of the Society for Applied Microbiology (SFAM).
Bill Pierce was a pioneer in the development of dehydrated culture media and was a great contributor to the foundation of the Oxoid range.
Nominations may only be made by full members of SFAM who should send a letter of support, together with the CV of the person nominated to Anthony Hilton at the Society for Applied Microbiology, to arrive by 27 April 2007.
Alternatively, they may be emailed to Fiona Macrae, marketing communications manager, Oxoid.
