R5 Pharmaceuticals has been named 'Best Start-Up Company' at the recent Medilink East Midlands innovation day held in Nottingham.
The day, held earlier this month, celebrated the achievements of some of the most successful companies in the area within the healthcare industry.
It was co-sponsored by the government organisation, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) which actively supports the development of UK-based companies abroad.
R5 has been working closely with the UKTI on several projects abroad, including the recent Bio Convention 2007 held in Boston, USA at the beginning of May.
R5 Pharmaceuticals announced the launch of its comprehensive range of contract services in drug development for the pharma and biotech industry in March of this year.
The company, based on the BioCity campus, Nottingham, offers an efficient and integrated approach to pharmaceutical development, from drug formulation and delivery technology through to full scale manufacture.
R5 is also applying its expertise to new and rapidly evolving areas such as paediatric products and nutraceuticals, which are coming under increasing pharmaceutical regulation.
