Randox Laboratories has won the Northern Ireland International Trade Award, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland
The International Trade Awards 2007 are the UK's premier awards devoted exclusively to recognising excellence in international trade achievement.
Randox convinced a distinguished panel of judges of their success as international traders.
Judges chose Randox due to its excellence of effort across a range of management activities, including a clear strategy and business model, a professional approach to marketing and business development, sound finances and unambiguous evidence of success.
Innovation - whether in product design, service delivery or customer relationship and management systems - was another key criterion, as was commitment to personnel development and ethical trading.
There will be a total of 12 regional winners - one drawn from each of the nine UKTI areas in England, and one each from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
There are monthly regional awards throughout 2007, culminating in the International Trade Awards ceremony to be held in London in February 2008, when regional winners will compete for the prestigious title of International Trade Company of the Year.
The new International Trade Awards reflect the UK's place in the 21st century global business environment.
Given the importance of international trade to the UK economy, the judges have identified an opportunity to recognise the success and achievements of outstanding UK companies, such as Randox, involved in international trade, to promote them as role models, and to encourage other UK businesses to strive for success in world markets.
