Icon's new lifecycle sciences group will incorporate Ovation research group, a leading patient registries, outcomes research and health economics firm that was acquired by Icon in July 2006
Icon has set up a dedicated business group within its clinical research division focused on observational research and analysis services.
Commenting on the changes, John Hubbard, global president of Icon Clinical Research, said "This is the latest step in the integration of Ovation into Icon's clinical research division and reflects how its expertise in patient registries, patient-reported outcomes research, health economics and statistical analysis is integral to our service offering.
"The new group covers all phases of the product lifecycle - from development through commercialisation.
"Over the past year, we have benefited significantly from the addition of these services to our divisional portfolio in terms of our ability to provide specialised services to existing clients and to win new business".
Jeff Trotter, founder of Ovation and now senior vice president, lifecycle sciences group, added "We will continue our tradition of technical excellence and strategic insight within the new group.
"The combined experience and global resources that we have enjoyed for the past year as part of Icon Clinical Research are enabling us to add greater value to clients".
