Now the first survey has closed, all the hundreds of respondents were entered into a draw for a Nintendo Wii games console from which a lucky winner was drawn at random
Gaining information directly from source is always considered to be more reliable, and this is especially true of trends and opinions within the scientific marketplace.
Be it for the end-user, supervisor, manager, or anyone else with purchasing or specifying influence, every laboratory supplier needs to ensure they cater fully for the needs of each individual.
Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS) adopted this 'getting vital information from source' approach by way of its on-line market research initiative which they conducted during October and November.
The results of this research yielded a wealth of information from their customers which SLS will use to improve the service they offer throughout the industry.
Geoff Douglas, marketing manager for SLS, commented: "We asked our customers for their opinion on a range of different aspects of the business and this provided us with an outline of basic trends and needs of our customer base.
"It has given us great insight into how the industry would like to see its suppliers operate and has provided an excellent platform from which we can gain even more detailed information from our customers".
SLS announces that the winner of the prize draw was Gemma Black, a laboratory technician from Leicester.
On receiving her prize from Geoff Douglas, Black said, "I really didn't think anyone actually won these competitions, thank you very much to SLS, I will be having a very merry Christmas with my new games console".
Geoff Douglas concluded: "We were delighted to be able to source the elusive console and to keep our promise of awarding the prize before Christmas, especially as the survey revealed that suppliers being able to keep their promises was a high priority for most people who responded to our research".
SLS confirms that its next scientific marketplace survey will be conducted during the first few months of 2008 and all are invited to participate.
All completed entries will be entered into a draw to win a 37inch LCD TV, with the draw taking place at the beginning of April 2008.
