ACM-Pivotal has announced a 20 percent growth in personnel across the organisation
This significant investment comes at a time of rapid growth for the clinical trials sector, as an extremely competitive pharmaceutical and biotech market drives demand.
ACM-Pivotal has made key appointments at its UK and US sites across business development, research, logistics and data management.
The growth is a direct response to the continued demand from drug development companies for its clinical trials and analytical services.
Growth in central and eastern Europe and the emerging markets of India and China have opened up new opportunities to the company, which performs 12 million tests each year spanning all medical disciplines.
Key appointments in the UK include Helen Jenkinson as senior clinical laboratory scientist, Laura Williams as senior project manager and Dean Thompson as logistics manager.
Andrew Botham joins as a senior scientist with responsibility for research and development of lab techniques - an important role in the company's continued efforts to improve its specialized services.
ACM-Pivotal has also made significant management promotions in the UK.
Chris Ellis and Shirley Macnamara have been promoted to head of operations and head of business development, respectively.
In the United States, ACM-Pivotal has increased its overall data management team to handle more complex data requirements that will be managed by recent hire Paul Herasimchuk.
Greg Grinstead, joins as lead toxicologist with responsibility for illicit drug testing and further expansion of toxicology testing, and Tracy Hendershott has been appointed to manage global expansion.
These new additions and appointments will take an active role in shaping the future development of the company.
Jerry Boxall, managing director of ACM-Pivotal Europe said: "The continued demand from drug development companies and the growth in the emerging markets are significant opportunities.
"ACM-Pivotal has the senior personnel in place to take the company to the next level".
"We've been able to set ourselves apart from other central labs in this industry because of our focus on customer service," said Elena Logan, VP of clinical trials, USA.
"We have achieved this by carefully selecting an extensive team of experienced and dedicated professionals who embody our vision and values.
"These appointments will help us to maintain this focus and we are looking forward to another highly successful year in 2008."
