PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences has announced a market-specific Labworks laboratory information management systems (Lims) package for water laboratories
Labworks Waterlims simplifies data management by providing an integrated suite of software applications, interfaces and reports based on the fundamental needs of most water laboratories.
"Labworks integrates with our chromatography, inorganic and materials characterization instruments to build on our EcoAnalytix initiative that provides comprehensive application-focused solutions," said Richard Begley, president, analytical sciences, PerkinElmer.

Labworks Waterlims increases operational productivity by managing complicated sampling schedules, alerting the lab to hold time requirements, streamlining the collection and evaluation of data from a variety of instruments, and providing the results in both printed and electronic formats to the laboratory's customers.
Further efficiencies may be achieved by interfacing Labworks Waterlims to handheld field devices, geographic information system (GIS) applications, plant information systems (Pims) and environmental enforcement data management systems (EEDMS).
Labworks Waterlims fully integrates with PerkinElmer instrumentation and interfaces with most analytical instrumentation found in water laboratories.
To further enable laboratories to get up and running quickly and operate efficiently, Labworks Waterlims includes a basic service package with installation and training and can be enhanced with additional applications and services to meet an individual laboratory's needs.
