Lauda enjoys great response at Analytica
8 Jul 2008
Analytica, the worldwide leading trade fair for laboratory medicine and analysis technology in Munich, was a big success for the thermoregulation and measurement specialist
Altogether the 1032 exhibitors welcomed no less than 32,500 visitors, an increase compared to the last Analytica which took place two years ago.
The 70m2 Lauda stand did not miss out on any of the action.
Besides the impressive structure of the stand itself, the new products also created much interest, with the new bilingual key note "Welcome to the Lauda Universe - Temperieren und Messen ohne Grenzen (unlimited regulating and measuring)".
Altogether three absolute world premieres were celebrated among the temperature control units.
As far as the all-round thermostats go, the new Alpha cooling and heating thermostats were the centre of attention.
These devices were developed jointly with Asian partners and are manufactured in Lauda for the European and the American sales market.
The two other highlights of the fair concerned challenges in the complex technology, here record temperatures of -90C are reached.
The new Proline Kryomats are designed to be used in troughs, for material tests for example, and retain strong refrigeration capacities even when subjected to low temperatures.
The many visitors were particularly impressed by its compact size, since in spite of being more efficient, it is only half the size of its forerunner.
Within the very successful Integral device range, variants reaching up to -90C were presented for the first time.
In their case, contrary to Kryomats, the regulation takes place within external circuits and not in troughs.
The most challenging issue while developing this device was working with only one type of heat transfer liquid in spite of high cooling and pumping capacities and the largest possible temperature range, between -90 and 200C.
In the measuring devices range, a very promising application was unveiled, which was developed with surprising rapidity thanks to support from the renowned Swiss high-precision manufacturer Mettler Toledo.
Phenomenal feedback was achieved by a mini thermostat whose patent was filed just before the fair, which through the use of Peltier elements and a built-in agitator is optimised for very small sample quantities for analysis instruments.
Here there is a strong possibility that the devices will be offered to other producers instead of being implemented exclusively at Lauda.
There were also many new features around the stand.
Managing partner Gerhard Wobser, honorary board member of the Spectaris business association, gave a speech and answered questions during a press conference.
He was proud to announce the good news of this year's 8.2 percent total turnover increase, reaching euro5.7 billion for the line of industry.
These very positive results are due in particular to international sales growth.
Furthermore, Wobser has taken part in all 21 Analytica exhibitions, probably a unique record.
For the first time, Lauda organized a 'Spacenight' at the hip Cosmo-Grill restaurant with its international partners, in keeping with the fair's slogan.
This trendy eatery, well-known by the locals not only displays impressive design, it also surprises the palate with its original hamburger creations.
Another indicator of Lauda consistency was the presentation of the Lauda honorary certificate to sales manager and vice president Rainer Hartmann to celebrate his 25 year anniversary of employment.
First as a product and export manager, then as a sales manager since the departure of his predecessor Reinhold Hellmuth on the first of July 2002, this Wurzburg-citizen has advocated the interests of Lauda throughout the world.
Gunther Wobser, sales and marketing executive in charge of the measuring device business unit, sums it up: "During Analytica we have proven once more how solid our team is.
"It's great that our visitor rate has increased by almost 20 percent since the last exhibition.
"This is also thanks to the fantastic advertising campaign.
"And many customers plan on buying before the end of the year.
"Thanks to our innovation drive and our strong sales and marketing team we are well equipped to keep the Lauda ship head to the wind, this is also noticeable this year also thanks to a considerable turnover increase.
"The building measures and numerous new positions also go to show that the tide is with us".
