ACM-Pivotal (Europe), which provides clinical trials services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, has had its College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation renewed for the second time
The award is based on the results of a highly successful on site inspection held recently at the company's facilities in York, UK.
The inspection examined the lab's records and quality control procedures including staff qualifications, equipment, health and safety and the overall management of the facility.
ACM-Pivotal in York is one of only eight labs in the UK with the CAP accreditation.
Described as an 'excellent operation' by the visiting inspectors, the company's laboratories in the UK and US see more than 12 million tests performed each year.
Managing director Jerry Boxall comments on their latest endorsement: "Maintaining CAP accreditation demonstrates ACM-Pivotal's consistently high laboratory standards.
"The company has an ongoing commitment to implement best practice across all its facilities and the CAP accreditation in Europe highlights the global capabilities of the business".
Following another highly successful year on all fronts, ACM-Pivotal is looking to expand its team in York with the appointment of three key positions.
The company is currently on the look out for a data analyst, a project manager and a QA Officer to join the 35-strong team in York.
The European arm of ACM-Pivotal serves the regions of western Europe, central and eastern Europe, Israel, South Africa and Australia.
The organisation provides extensive laboratory facilities offering a full range of routine and esoteric testing services.
The CAP laboratory accreditation programme is an internationally-recognised programme which uses teams of practising laboratory professionals as inspectors.
Its goal is to improve patient safety by advancing the quality of pathology and laboratory services through education, standard setting and ensuring laboratories meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
