Thermo Fisher Scientific received the highest rating for infrared spectroscopy instrumentation, according to a survey published by Strategic Directions International in July.
The primary factors for selection of an infrared (IR) vendor in the Worldwide Molecular Spectroscopy Survey are: performance, service, instrument specifications and vendor experience.
The Thermo Fisher Scientific IR spectroscopy portfolio was rated the highest among survey respondents in virtually all of the categories, with the most outstanding score for instrument quality.
The report was compiled through end-user internet surveys covering an array of industries, including academia, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, CROs, plastics/polymers, biotechnology, consumer products and petrochemicals.
Survey responses were collected in April and May 2008 and a total of 525 questionnaires were returned with detailed answers to the inquiries.
The SDi survey results stated: 'More than half of the most recently purchased IR instruments were from Thermo Fisher Scientific, which is consistent with the company's leadership in the IR spectroscopy market.'
