The 6.0506.100 is the new ammonia ion selective electrode (ISE) with exchangeable membrane module from Metrohm.
This modular concept can be used in virtually any sample.
It can be connected to the 781 pH/ion meter, the 867 high-end pH/ISE meter or the Titrando autotitrator.
The ammonia electrode is widely used for the determination of ammonium ion concentrations for many industries.
The ammonium ions contained in the sample solution are converted to ammonia by addition of sodium hydroxide solution.
The ammonia then diffuses through a gas-permeable membrane and is detected by a pH glass electrode.
Precipitates or other sample contaminants do not affect its function.
Moreover, any other ions present in the sample solution do not interfere, which means that the ammonia electrode can be an economic alternative to ion chromatography.
Even in the low ppm range it allows determination of ammonium ions directly, without complicated sample preparation steps.
The modular concept of the 6.0506.100 ammonia electrode allows the quick exchange of the gas-permeable membrane.
The membrane is received already mounted in a prefabricated module to which the internal electrolyte must be added before attaching the module to the measuring electrode.
To offer the user maximum safety, the membrane modules are tested individually for correct mounting of the gas-permeable membrane and for impermeability.
A certificate will be issued that confirms the functioning of the membrane module.
