The VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has signed a cooperation agreement with the Laboratory of Advanced Forming Technology at Tsinghua University and Coway International Techtrans Co.
VTT and the Laboratory of Advanced Forming Technology start collaboration in the research and development of disc type of heat resistant steel components with a precision spray forming process to provide a sound basis for commercial application of this technology in rapid manufacturing of components such as turbine discs and different moulding tools.
Coway focuses on promoting international cooperation between enterprises in China and abroad by promoting international technology transfer.
Coway will handpick the best suited technologies for the Chinese markets from the VTT patent portfolio.
VTT has previously signed a license agreement with Shanxi Fenxi Heavy Industry Co, based on the same technology.
The agreement gives Shanxi Fenxi exclusive rights in China in renewing deteriorated train wheels with VTT-developed Precision Spray Forming technology.
