Waters Corporation has purchased the net assets of Analytical Products Group (APG) of Belpre, Ohio, for an undisclosed amount.
Waters will immediately merge APG into its existing Environmental Resource Associates (ERA) operations to form a comprehensive environmental proficiency testing (PT) and reference materials partner.
Current annual revenues for APG are approximately $4m, and the acquisition is expected to be neutral to Waters Corporation's 2009 earnings.
Existing and prospective laboratory customers stand to benefit significantly through expanded availability of superior laboratory standards, access to a secure data system, and the assurance of regulatory and quality systems tools.
With customers' data residing in one data system, ERA is capable of providing laboratory performance mapping, z-score trending, method performance review, direct EDD uploading and director-level regulatory and quality management tools.
Following the acquisition of APG, ERA now offers a large array of technically superior PT and QC products.
