Applikon Analytical has brought out the ADI 2040 Exp for analysing sodium in propane and butane.
Passing gas through a caustic scrubber is one of the most common methods for removing sulphide and mercaptans from natural gas.
But small amounts of sodium are carried through with the sweetened product and can lead to serious technical issues for processes downstream.
Sampling and analysing propane and butane is lengthy and hazardous and gives a low frequency of analysis for laboratory results.
The ADI 2040 Exp allows the sodium analysis to take place in the production environment.
It comes with a purpose-built sample conditioning system.
The wet-part is mounted outside the purged cabinet, allowing maintenance and operator checks to be made without shutting the system down.
The configuration and working range of the analyser and sample conditioning system can be adjusted for the needs of each site.
The ADI 2040 Exp is ATEX certified.
