Emma Clayton has joined the Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) as conference project manager and for her first task will organise the company's 30th Anniversary Spring Conference and Exhibition.
The exhibition's format has been updated to feature speaker-sessions on therapeutics, raising standards, sharing knowledge and developing professionals.
Speakers will include Niall Dickson, chief executive of Kings Fund; Karol Sikora, professor of cancer medicine at Imperial College London; and Dr Eva Bagenholm, the chair of the World Medical Association's (WMA) Ethics Committee.
The exhibition will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham on 17-18 March 2009.
Clayton has more than 10 years' experience in conference and exhibition management and has previously worked for the British Association of Dermatologists and other not-for-profit organisations.
