Phidgets has released the 1063 Phidgetstepper Bipolar 1-Motor Controller, which controls the position, velocity and acceleration of one bipolar stepper motor.
It allows the precise positioning of stepper motors, can handle larger industrial stepper motors and is also suitable for applications that require a lot of torque.
The board also includes four digital inputs, which can be used to convey the state of push buttons, limit switches, relays, logic levels and so on.
Product specifications: Minimum Position Limit: -(239 -1) 1/16th steps; Velocity Resolution: 8 1/16th steps/second (11-bit); Velocity Limit: 16,384 1/16th steps/second; Acceleration Resolution: 4,000 1/16th steps/second2 (8-bit); Acceleration Minimum: 4,000 1/16th steps/second2; Acceleration Limit: 1,020,000 1/16th steps/second2; Minimum Power Supply Voltage: 9V; Maximum Power Supply Voltage: 30V; Max Current Per Coil: 2.5A; USB-Power Current Specification: 100mA Software Environment Users can program Phidgets using an Application Programming Interface (API) that is supported under Windows (2000, XP, Vista), Windows CE, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Users can write programs in Visual Basic, VB.NET, C#, C/C++, Flash/Flex, Java, Labview, Matlab, ActionScript 3.0, and Cocoa.
Phidgets also provides programming examples for all its products to help programmers write their own programs.
The API Libraries as well as the examples and the documentation are available at no charge on Phidgets's website.
