Bio-Rad Laboratories has announced the launch of the Ssofast Evagreen Supermix, the first member of Bio-Rad's next-generation range of real-time PCR reagents.
Through instant polymerase activation, optimal primer binding and rapid polymerisation kinetics, the Supermix enables QPCR cycling protocols to be completed in less than 30 minutes.
The combination of Bio-Rad's hot-start Sso7D fusion protein technology, optimised buffer and Evagreen dye increases the product's reliability and sensitivity, claims the company.
Such reproducibility enables efficient and accurate quantification of gene targets over a very broad range of expression levels, added Bio-Rad.
The use of Evagreen dye results in less PCR inhibition and greater reliability in high-resolution melt (HRM) analysis for genotyping studies.
Minimising PCR inhibition also ensures maximum PCR efficiency, sensitivity and reproducibility.
Additionally, Evagreen generates higher fluorescence signals and increases the accuracy of melt curve analysis.
The performance and characteristics of Ssofast Evagreen Supermix are said to be enhanced when used with Bio-Rad's CFX96 real-time PCR system.
The thermal uniformity and detection capabilities of the instrument use the fast enzyme and optimised formulation in the Supermix to deliver fast QPCR results.
